Lady Gaga becomes first superstar to top 10m Twitter followers
Lady Gaga has become the certified queen of Twitter having amassed a macro fan base on the micro blogging service.
As of this sunrise some 10,050,061 (and counting) Twitter users were going gaga for the singers tweets, including such snippets as: “Good morning monsters! Couldn’t sleep so excited for you to hear HAIR! I performed last night.”
Gaga, who refers to her followers as “monsters” crossed the landmark threshold whilst in London recording a show for Radio 1.
Commenting on the feat she tweeted: “10MillionMonsters! I’m speechless, we did it! It’s an illness how I love you. Leaving London smiling.”
Gaga’s rapid ascent saw her reach 9m admirers in March, having assumed the mantle of most followed superstar from Britney Spears last August.
The star hasn’t got social television entirely wrapped up however, despite amassing 24m friends the starlet still has a way to go on Facebook where both Eminem and Texas Hold’em Poker boast larger admirer bases.
