Has Italian Mayor Laid Down The Law For Visiting ‘Jersey Shore’ Stars?

There goes the neighborhood — at least, that’s what Matteo Renzi, mayor of Florence, Italy, seems to be thinking with regards to the cast of MTV’s “Jersey Shore” heading to the historic city to film Season 4 of their hit reality show.

“I will not allow [the cast] to use the Palazzo Vecchio or other historic buildings,” Renzi reportedly told the Italian newspaper Corriere della Sera on Tuesd .But I cannot ban them from using our city as a set.”

The mayor reportedly issued a list of rules for the raucous soon-to-arrive visitors, whose on-camera activities typically revolve around partying, drinking, more partying, alcohol-induced hookups and brawls, followed by… more partying.

The list reportedly stipulates that there will no be “no shooting in bars, clubs or any place that promotes the reckless consumption of alcohol,” according to the paper.

Additionally, the beautiful town – widely considered to be the birthplace of the Renaissance — is not to be “portrayed as a drinking town,” and the cast reportedly “must interact with authentic Italian people in authentic cultural settings – thus avoiding the city’s hordes of tourists and students,” according to the paper.

Finally, in a move that is sure to guarantee the “Shore” cast stays securely locked inside their rooms, the Post reports the reality stars are “prohibited from drinking in public on camera.”

Paul “DJ Pauly D” Delvecchio, Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino, Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi and the rest of the “Shore” gang is set to touch down in Italy on May 9.
